Executive Board
Come share your ideas, your expertise and talents with others at our virtual monthly meetings. If you have a little free time and would like to give back, consider taking on a position with Dakota County Family Child Care Association. We are professional family child care providers, just like you, who work together for our child care profession. We encourage you to apply for one of the various openings listed below. Contact any board member to answer questions you may have in making this decision. Training is provided.
You must be a legally licensed provider in Dakota County and have been a Tier I member (licensed provider) of DCFCCA for at least six months of the previous year. All candidates running for a board position shall not have any pending negative licensing actions or have had any substantiated complaints within the last five years. All positions are 2 year terms.
Treasurer: Be responsible for funds of the association. Pay bills and trainers. Balance the DCFCCA checkbook and maintain files on the checking account, as well as PayPal funds. Assist with the reports and filing of taxes. Email reports to board members monthly. Attend monthly virtual board meetings.
Secretary: Keep minutes for all monthly board meetings and special meetings. Write any correspondence needed by the President. Be responsible for all DCFCCA files, being that historian. Perform duties of the president in his/her absence. Co-sign all checks over $2000. Attend monthly virtual board meetings.
Area Coordinator Facilitator: Help recruit and train area coordinators for all training areas. Support area coordinators. Create and provide training rosters for coordinators. Provide supplies for coordinators. Attend monthly virtual board meetings. (The typical duties for this position are not currently necessary due to training being offered online. This board member would have a voice in all board decisions, while volunteering to serve on other committees and assisting other board members when needed.)
Newsletter Coordinator: Collect data and enter into the computer for the newsletter. Design and organize the bi-monthly newsletter (Computer program provided.). Email the newsletter to all members. Back up and store previous newsletter information and material. Attend monthly virtual board meetings.
Fundraiser Coordinator: Plan and coordinate all fundraising events. Seek fundraising opportunities. Attend monthly virtual board meetings.

Elections will be held online from Wednesday, May 20th to Saturday, May 23rd. Results will be announced by May 24th on the website and DCFCCA's Facebook page. More details will follow.
