Kinda Mean-Preventing and Responding to Emerging Behaviors;
Fostering the Development of Kindness, Respect, Cooperation and
Conflict Resolution Skills
Presented by Kristen Wheeler Highland
Between 3 and 5, children are experimenting with behaviors and are learning how to get along
with each other.  Our job is to provide an environment that fosters respect, kindness,
cooperation and help them develop conflict resolution skills.  Identify and explore concrete ways
to prevent and respond to behaviors.  Explore activities and resources to build children's skills
(feelings, empathy, kindness, respect, self-control and conflict resolution). Actively supporting
children in learning how to live together peacefully, will set them up for positive interactions in
life and provide them with a wide range of skills that will support the prevention of future
bullying. Tips, techniques, activities and resources will be shared.
