Unlicensed Child Care In Minnesota, a person may only provide legally "unlicensed care" if they care for relatives and one unrelated family. This includes the caregiver’s own children. A person cannot do unlicensed care if they were ever denied a license, had their license revoked or their license is currently suspended. You can verify a provider's licensing status by using the Licensing Lookup link above or by calling Dakota County Social Services at 952-891-7400.
There are no safety regulations for unlicensed child care providers!
